I came across this photo as of recent due to my findings of the newly created "critique" system. I find that this picture is satiable in being my first critique; and not only is it satiating my will to critique a work of art, but it has satiated me in ways I cannot describe. This photograph - which I didn't even think was a photograph at first - is striking and appalling. The photograph shows that the photographer not only has an astounding sense composition, but can stray away from the drab, boring austerity which plagues many photographers today. The detail of the sand is so intensely intricate, that I feel as though my eyes just want to scan it with purest intent to find a way out of the proverbial maze. Then, as I am finding my exit, I come across such gorgeous water, that only compliments the dark, expansive sky.

To put it briefly, this photograph is beautiful. It is simply beautiful. An excellent work.

This is a gorgeous photo of a beach. What sets this photo apart from other photos of beaches are the intricate markings on the sand, which look almost like an abstract pattern, or even flames. I find that to give the beach some new character, giving it a new kind of life. The pattern in the sand comes towards the viewer, drawing the eye in towards the water. The colours the sky are beautiful, hinting at either a sunrise or sunset, but it is unclear which one it is. This photo overall, has a very serene and tranquil feel, therefore making this piece a beauty.
